Ethanol Fuel from CO2
There are many ways to convert CO2 into fuel. Hopefully they can make one of the processes work, taking carbon dioxide, a waste product, and we’re pushing that combustion reaction backwards with very high selectivity to a useful fuels. I think they are on the right track and we’ll be seeing CO2 fuels come to market soon.
In a new twist to waste-to-fuel technology, scientists at the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory have developed an electrochemical process that uses tiny spikes of carbon and copper to turn carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas, into ethanol.
